Xirokambos Leros

xirokambosXirokambos is located in the southernmost part of Leros opposite Kalymnos. It is a small fishing village with a primary school and a nice stadium. It has a nice beach with tamarind trees for shade and some tavernas and restaurants like Aloni which is near the beach.

At Xirokampos, the wine festival takes place every summer with feasting and dancing.
You can go to Xirokambos by turning left at the intersection in front of the Spanos supermarket or from the end of the beach in Lakki after the taxi rank follow the road to Temenia and at the intersection right to Lepida Xirokambos, the route is about 2 kilometers from Lakki.

In Xirokampos you can visit Paleokastro, a prehistoric fortified fortress and the Byzantine church of Panagia located there.
Another well-known church in Xirokampos is Panagia Kavouradena. From Xirokambos there is a daily boat to Kalymnos in Myrties, departure time 7.30 am and return around 2 am. It is a good opportunity for a short trip to Kalymnos.
In Xirokambos you will find rooms for rent and the only campsite of Leros. There is also a diving school and a basket ball stadium.
