Burtzi the ancient fortress of Leros

The fortress of Bourtzi of Leros is difficult to access and has not been exploited, nor displayed to such an extent as to constitute a tourist attraction.

Few people know its history and even fewer visit it, since Agia Marina is a town better known as the center of the night life of Leros with several “Greek bars” and many other bars that are open until dawn.

The remaining 6 Bourtzis throughout Greece are located in Methoni, Troizinia, Karystos, Chios, Skiathos and Avlidas. There were also the Bourtzis of Aegina and Chalkida which were lost in modern Greece.
